Thank you for this. I was diagnosed with depression/bipolar/social anxiety as a teenager and put on all different kinds of meds through my twenties that had ridiculous side effects and did little to nothing. Eventually I decided to stop everything and after a time, my emotions evened out enough that I could live with them. Fast forward 25 years and I now have an autism/asbergers diagnosis. Just understanding that I am (and was, as a child) on the spectrum did more for my mental well being than any 10 drugs or doctors could ever hope to do.
