Shungite is a black mineraloid found in the Karelian region of Russia, where it has been used as a water purifier, disinfectant, and for healing since the 1700s. Its complex chemical composition and carbon-based fullerene internal structure are responsible for Shungite's amazing properties, such as the ability to eliminate from water almost all harmful organic compounds and contaminants (including pharmaceuticals and pesticides), heavy metals, chlorine, bacteria and nitrates.

STEP-BY-STEP - Making Tier III Shungite Water

  1. Measure out Shungite based on the amount of water to be treated. Use a scant 1/4 cup of Shungite stones per 1 liter of water.
  2. Rinse your Shungite, boil in a pot for 10 minutes, strain and rinse again. Now your stones are ready for use.
  3. Place stones in the cotton drawstring pouch included.
  4. Add stones to a glass or ceramic water vessel and fill container with cold water.
  5. Let Shungite soak overnight or for at least 8 hours; soak for 48 hours for best results.
  6. Add more water to your vessel as you use it.
  7. Periodically rinse stones before reusing. Pouch can be hand washed with dish soap and water and reused.
  8. We recommend you replace your stones once per year for maximum effectiveness.
  • Do not keep Shungite water in a plastic or metal container or pitcher. Elements within Shungite interact with elements in the plastic and metal to then get infused into water. Glass and ceramic are ideal for this application. You can still boil the stones in a metal pot since you will rinse the stones again before placing them in a pitcher with water.
  • Healthy people who want to maintain their health should drink one to two 8 ounce glasses of Shungite water a day. Three to four glasses a day are recommended for detoxification.
  • The remaining water can be given to plants. Customers report positive effects to plant health and growth after using Shungite water regularly for their plants.
  • People also report positive effects on their pets who are given Shungite water.
  • If you’ve used all your water during the day, before going to bed, simply top up the water in your container and in the morning, it’ll be ready to drink. It’s not necessary to clean or charge our stones every time you make Shungite water.
  • Don't be afraid of the black color of the water, it will disappear after a few minutes of standing. Do take care not to allow the carbonized water to stain counters or clothing. If staining occurs, it may require mild scrubbing to remove. See FAQs for more detailed cleaning instructions.

Premium Type III Shungite for Pure, Mineralized, and Energized Drinking Water

What is Shungite?

Shungite is a black mineraloid found in the Karelian region of Russia, where it has been used as a water purifier, disinfectant, and for healing since the 1700s. Its complex chemical composition and carbon-based fullerene internal structure are responsible for Shungite's amazing properties, such as the ability to eliminate from water almost all harmful organic compounds and contaminants (including pharmaceuticals and pesticides), heavy metals, chlorine, bacteria and nitrates.

Type III Shungite stones are considered one of the most healing stones on the planet and are praised by many for their healing and protective capabilities, but only you can be the judge of that once you own them for yourself.

C-60 Fullerenes, unique carbon-based molecules, are found in the highest concentration only in Shungite. The presence of fullerenes in the Shungite stones, along with their complex structure, have proven to be a unique and powerful tool for water purification and mineralization, and can even be used for protection against EMFs.

Guaranteed Authenticity

We source our Shungite directly from the quarry in Karelia, Russia, and test the stones with a multimeter to guarantee authenticity. We have also shared the inspection report of the exact site in Russia where our Shungite is sourced (see product images).

Unpolished Stones Are Best For Water

When using Type III Shungite, the untreated, unpolished Shungite is best for water purification and drinking water. (Polished stones are better for EMF mitigation, near your electrical devices.)

  1. Measure out Shungite based on the amount of water to be treated. Use a scant 1/4 cup of Shungite stones per 1 liter of water.
  2. Rinse your Shungite, boil in a pot for 10 minutes, strain and rinse again. Now your stones are ready for use.

FAQs

Shungite is a natural product that comes from the earth and contains carbon, a commonly used water filtration substance. Since Shungite stones contain carbon as well, it is perfectly safe to use them in water. Because of the carbon, Shungite stones have a purifying effect and can clean the water.

Shungite sometimes contains trace elements of pyrite and quartz. This is perfectly normal for Shungite to contain them, and white-like traces on the stones are a normal phenomenon.

Shungite stones are messy because they are raw. To clean Shungite stones, you should wash them under running water and use a colander to strain excess water. If you want to use the stones for drinking water, you disinfect them. This is done best by boiling the stones for 10 minute, rinsing them, and then placing them in the water to purify and drink it.

Shungite stones are a bit messy, and since they are raw, they can stain various surfaces while using them. If you need to clean Shungite stone marks off a stained surface, you can simply use the rough side of a wet sponge and hand soap to gently rub the surface in a circular motion. Make sure to use lukewarm water and simply rinse the surface afterward. If you have found Shungite stone residue on your clothes, you can simply wash the clothes in the washing machine as usual. The stains may or may not come off, depending on the material of the clothes, but you can use the same wet soapy sponge technique, rinse it off, and wash it in the machine at the end. Remember to air dry and check for stain removal and try again if stains remain; heat drying will set stains.

There are several theories about the origin of Shungite. Since it has unique properties formed by extreme temperatures known only to occur naturally in stellar interiors and during lightning strikes, some believe it came from a meteorite that crashed into an area of northwestern Russian, two billion years ago. This location, on the shores of Lake Onega in the Russian Republic of Karelia, is the primary place Shungite is found on Earth.

For hundreds of years, local inhabitants have used the waters which spring from Shungite rock formations around this lake for curing various ailments. Chronicles of the healing power of Shungite water date back to the 1500’s. Peter the Great (1672-1725) discovered that miners stricken with copper poisoning could recover within 3 days by drinking the waters that flowed through the Shungite deposit.

Shungite has antiseptic properties. Russian Tsar, Peter the Great, engaged in military campaigns and instructed his troops to each carry a piece of Shungite to purify their drinking water. Allegedly, enemy forces succumbed to dysentery while the Russian troops remained strong because of the Shungite advantage.

Shungite is mostly carbon. However, the distinguishing characteristic of Shungite is the unique nature of that carbon; it contains fullerenes—hollow, soccer-ball shaped, molecular carbon spheres that are responsible for the protective and curative properties of Shungite. These spherical structures are rarely found in naturally occurring minerals.

Because of fullerenes, Shungite has unique physical, chemical and physico-chemical properties. It is electrically conductive, chemically resistance, catalytic, adsorptive and has redox properties.

Fullerenes are also responsible for the biological, bioenergetic, and geobiological effects of Shungite.
