Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay
Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay
Bentonite Clay is a very fine and soft natural clay. A natural detoxifier, bentonite clay has a high level of natural minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron. Our food-grade USA-made bentonite clay can be used as a purifying face mask, in body wraps, foot treatments, soap bars, hair masks, acne spot treatments, insect bite poultices, or body scrubs. Bentonite clay is a dark tan color and will darken slightly when added to your products. Bentonite naturally pulls impurities out of the skin and helps to absorb excess oil, which is why it works so great in acne treatments and facial masks.
Made with 100% Pure Bentonite Calcium Clay
Facials: Mix clay with equal parts raw apple cider vinegar and/or water. Use a non-metal bowl and utensil. Stir to a smooth paste consistency. Add more clay or liquid as needed. Apply 1/8” to 1/4” to the face or body, avoiding eyes and delicate tissues. Let dry for 5-10 minutes for sensitive skin, and up to 15-20 minutes for normal skin. You will feel a pulling and tightening sensation. Remove clay by rinsing with warm water. Use once per week for normal skin, and more often for problem skin. 1 pound of clay makes 10-15 facials.
Acne Treatments: Try blending bentonite, titanium dioxide, hazelnut oil, lavender essential oil, and a small amount of tea tree essential oil. Apply to affected areas and allow to sit for 30 minutes or longer to help pull spots to the surface.
Hair Masks: Blend shea butter with bentonite, hazelnut oil, organic argan oil, sweet almond oil, and a blend of rosemary, lavender, and eucalyptus essential oils to help create a stimulating scalp treatment
Foot Masks: Blend bentonite with water, then add an essential oil blend of menthol, peppermint, wintergreen, eucalyptus, tea tree, and rosemary. Follow with a foot scrub made with shea butter, pumice, and the same essential oil blend to create a soothing, softening foot treatment.
Insect Bite Poultices: Try blending 1/4 cup bentonite clay with 1/2 cup of cooled chamomile tea and 1 Tbsp. raw honey. Apply poultice, cover with gauze and let set for 2-3 hours. Rinse off. Will keep for 1 week refrigerated.
