NADH: All Metabolic Processes In Our Cells Depends On It

NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide hydride) is perhaps the most promising natural supplement available today.

The biological form of hydrogen in our bodies, NADH reacts with the oxygen we obtain through breathing to generate the ATP that powers our cells. The other byproduct of the reactions between NADH and oxygen in our cells is the generation of water.

The water generated through the interaction of NADH and oxygen is the most biologically pure water available to us. It is through the combination of ATP and water that that our cells derive the energy they need to power all the metabolic processes within the cells, though not in the way that most scientists believe (as a direct source of energy) but more as an agent that "heats" our body's water and aids in creating our life-sustaining gel-like structured water within our cells.

As my book on vaccines and autoimmunity explains, this combination of ATP and water is the foundation for the creation of gels in our cells and tissues. This gel formation is the source of electrical charges that govern all cellular process.  The availability of NADH is often the rate-limiting step in the generation of energy and water. If we are deficient in NADH, we will be energy starved and will suffer the consequences this circumstance entails, such as fatigue, neurological and cardiovascular dysfunction and other metabolic disturbances.

Decades ago the Birkmayer family of physicians in Austria began to make important discoveries about the nature and importance of NADH. They created a clinic in Austria that was visited by people from all over the world seeking help with their metabolic and neuro-degenerative conditions.

Originally, NADH could be used only intravenously, but over time the Birkmayer family developed and patented a sublingual form of NADH with the bioavailability and effectiveness of the IV form.

I have corresponded at length with Professor George Birkmayer, M.D./PhD, the current director of the Birkmayer clinic. He has shared with me case studies and research articles that support the use of sublingual NADH as a supportive therapy in a number of conditions. Because NADH supports the energy generation in the body, it has the ability to support normal heart function and blood pressure, as well as to overcome fatigue.

NADH can be used to support athletic performance or for those looking to recover from their twice-weekly workouts. NADH has been shown to be helpful in supporting neurological function, in particular, for the elderly. As the well-known biochemist and anti-oxidant expert Dr. Richard Passwater has stated:

We carry two NADH supplements. NADH Rapid Energy is pure NADH. The usual dose is 2 to 4 sublingual tablets twice a day on an empty stomach until improvement is noted.  At that time the dose can be reduced to 1 tablet twice a day.

NADH Vision adds the amino acid L-arginine, which increases nitric oxide production in the cells, thereby supporting immune function and improved blood flow. Often these two supplements are used together (1 to 2 capsules a day of NADH Vision before meals.)
